Just like home, this 1886 cottage has been transformed into a peaceful getaway for a family or small group
of friends. Available by the night, weekend, week or month. The house has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen
bed and one with an antique double, a loft with 3 twins, 1 1/2 bathrooms as well as an awesome outdoor
shower, a bright and cheery eat in kitchen, a cozy dining room, a living room with comfy seating, remote controled gas fireplace,
a flat screen HD TV & a DVD. There is a large deck (10x16)off the kitchen complete
with a domed screen room,as well as a deck off the downstairs bedroom. The home sleeps up to nine guests. There is also a
TV in the upstairs bedroom and a TV in the kichen. For the flame starters we offer you a firepit with lots of wood
and seating. It's always nice to have a little fire while watching all the stars. Well mannered Dogs are welcomed.
The yard is fenced and there is a doggy door in the kitchen. The home was built by Joshua James in
1886 as part of the James Farm wildlife preserve. The surrounding 100 acres offers plenty of trails for
just cruising or walking your doggy, with awesome birdwatching. Most of the paths( so beautiful in the snow !!!) lead
to a beautiful sandy beach with a "no wave" bay for swimming, claming or just watching the sunsets. The property
is 2 miles by road from the beach but when its still outside you can hear the ocean. This home offers the beach without
the hustle and bustle of the summer beach scene and the property is very private. The center for the inland
bays manages the preserve and has provided nice trails and observation platforms for viewing wildlife and bird watching, so
bring those binoculars. This home is not like any other place at the beach !!!! It is a perfect romantic getaway. Each room
is airconditioned and we supply nice clean crisp linens and towels. You can email me in advance and we will stock the kitchen
with whatever fresh foods you need. On the back deck we have a nice gas grill and a charchol one as
well The barn in the back of the property is cocupied by Diane
( a caterer) who will be happy to help with your food desires. Maybe a lobster bake or a nice hand trimmed tenderloin
to cook on the grill, whatever you feel like we can help. Why not have a vacation and really not have to do anything
!!!!!! CALL OR EMAIL NOW FOR SUMMER 09 RESERVATIONS !!!!!!!!! At the same price as 2008. I will be happy to arrange a very relaxing massage, call for diner reservations, hair appointments,
book spa services, provide you with a list of area movies and other attractions and anything else you need.

AWESOME!!, October 22, 2008 By Joe & Leslie Rasimas (Hummelstown, PA) We had an absolutely wonderful
time on The Farm. The rustic, quaint cottage in the midst of the preserve was an ideal setting for a fall getaway. Our Sophie
(Golden Retriever) got to meet Diane's Sophie (miniature pony) nose-to-nose. It was awesome! Sophie also enjoyed her first
trip to the beach and the bay. The weather was wonederful (to Diane's credit!!) and the quiet lack of bustling familes
with kids was a real treat and a great break from the rigors of school. Thanks for sharing The Farm with us. This vacation
ranks second only to our Honeymoon, and that's pretty impressive. We are sure to return.
review By Bonnie (Ephrata, PA) You couldn't ask for a nicer host or a dog friendlier home. We enjoyed our stay
and lamented having to leave after two nights, will return for a longer stay in the spring. Would recommend this lovely home
for everyone, especially those of you with dogs. I think our Bassett Hound was as disappointed to leave as we were! The Northeimer's,
Ephrata, PA Incredible Place, November 1, 2007 By
Karen Elmore (New Castle, DE) My family spent a week at the cottage during July, we had an incredible time.
Diane is very warm and welcoming. The trails were beautiful and the cottage cozy and comfortable. We had our grandchildren
there for 3 days (6&10) they totally enjoyed making s'mores over the fire pit in the yard. We also brought our 2 dogs,
who loved swimming in the bay. Thanks Diane...hope to see you in July 2008 Karen & Toby Charming,
peaceful, Property, October 11, 2007 By Laurie
A. Rhodes (Bethel, PA) My family of 6 just returned from a long weekend at
Hi Point Farm. It is a charming cottage and the property is incredible. So peaceful, serene, yet 3 miles from the ocean. The
trails leading to the bay are beautiful and well maintained. Diane was so very accomodating, and a gracious hostess. She prepared
a meal for us that was out of this world. My parents, (father 81), live in Myrtle Beach, and are very picky about their seafood.
My father had Diane prepare him crabcakes to take home even. He said they were the best he has ever had. I am a vegetarian,
with a food and beverage background, and her lasagna was better than anything I have ever created. Our greyhound accompanied
us and he too sends 4 paws up for the experience. Great, very large fenced in yard. Just can't say enough good about our
experience. We will be back in a few months. Thanks to Diane for sharing her amazing property.- Laurie | | |
